Thomas and Gordon and The Abandoned Siding

It was a beautiful day on the island of Sodor. Thomas was looking forward to having a very useful day.

"Sir Topham Hatt has asked me to go to the abandoned siding to pick up some freight cars," Thomas told Lady.

Thomas chugged merrily along, wishing his coaches Annie and Clarabel were with him.

When he reached the abandoned siding, he saw Gordon the express engine. Gordon would not let Thomas pass. He had a look in his eyes that Thomas had never seen before.

"I'll make you a very useful engine, Thomas," said Gordon.

Thomas found himself wrapped in strong chains.

Try as he could, he simply couldn't move.

Thomas felt nervous.
Gordon came closer.

Thomas arrived back at the station very late. For once, he did not want Sir Topham Hatt to see him.
"I'm very cross with you and Gordon," said Sir Topham Hatt. "You've been very naughty engines! Thomas, I shall have to send you to the Works to have your firebox cleaned.."

At the Works, they cleaned Thomas's firebox, and replaced his couplers.

Soon he was feeling much better. And he had certainly learned a lesson! Thomas wouldn't be going down any abandoned sidings anytime soon!
